I’m assuming this is the “standard” front end on this white one. Below is the F-Sport.

It looks like they got rid of the weird bulge and bubbles shape in the headlight housing which is great because that was my real main complain with the IS design. Otherwise just a minor Botox treatment to get to the end of the lifecycle.

Interior get a 10.3in screen over the old 7in unit and some stitching in new places, otherwise no real changes.

Engine choices remain 200T, 300, and 350.

I consider myself to be very discerning about design updates...this one is harder to spot than any VAG product updates. I’m talking 911, A4, Golf levels of stealth without an outgoing model to compare it to side by side. Was really hoping for a GS front end and RC rear lights...

8/10 would consider at least.

I prefer this to the previous gen. But nothing beats the first gen IMO.

Too much overlap with the GS maybe? Both would probably use that 5 liter screamer they have to it wouldn't make much sense.

Yeah, Lexus needs more engines. They could do what BMW did and build a twin-turbo 6-cylinder engine for the IS F.

Hopefully by next generation Lexus has a V6T. They haven't exactly been quick to jump on the turbo bandwagon. Which is understandable given their reputation for reliability.

They could probably just strap turbos to the V6 Camry engine. It would probably crank out at least 350hp. Not insane, but respectable. The IS-F wouldn’t be competing with the M3 anyways (that is the GS F’s thing), and it’d slot nicely below the 460hp GS F.

Yep. Everyone hates on the front of these and I’m just wondering how they are missing the rear. That taillight droop is terrible.

Funny thing is I don't even think the front end is all that bad. But the droopy taillights stretching all the way to the wheel wells are just hideous.

The “old” F-Sport ditched the fogs and moved them to the headlights. I personally like separate fogs, but just like separate turn signals, they’re going away, only to be brought back later.

Not bad at all. The new taillights are an awesome evolution of the current units, and the new air intakes and lights bring it in line with the new GS and the RC.
